What I Am Noticing

The human impulse to be drawn to conflict is strong. Conflict defined as what is wrong, how to problem-solve, and getting to a better place is a looping mechanism. When the loop is interrupted with an option or choice, the loop destabilizes. This is where true healing and resolution begin. Whether it is an injury, a movement pattern, or a postural stance, healing is not possible without interrupting this loop. This shows up for me daily in how I navigate interactions. I can enter into a very natural containment of other behavior or I can allow the container to arise as a shared creation. When I break this loop, I consistently find myself surprised in different ways by what others bring to interactions. Not right, not wrong—just pure observation of what is happening in the moment has an element of welcomed surprise. For me, breaking my own internal loop is beneficial.

Where We Are Headed Collectively

Problem-solving is the foundation of human culture. It can be difficult to step outside of this mindset without experience of destabilization. Conflict is the mainstay but considering living without conflict—this is not conflict avoidance—is observing yourself and others as they are verses a problem to solve, it gives very clear information of what next steps could be taken. For example, the collective experience of global conflict. If that were reframed from a higher perspective into what it actually is, collectively, humans do not yet know how to balance and restore their own individual power. Wars provide the crucible for that question and the internal response to the question of power balance and restoration shapes the external experience. If power and control are seen as something that you gain from others, wars continue as the way to stability. Conflict provides its own stability because it is a known way to interact with oneself and others. Without conflict, who are we?
